~BLOG TOUR~ Madeline, Abducted by M.S. Willis

Book Description:

She was meant to be his destruction…

A pawn played in a perilous game between

father and son…
Yet, her strength was more than either
man could imagine.
As Maddy learns to save herself…
She becomes the one thing that could
set the son free.

Madeleine Clark was raised to become a concert cellist. Sheltered and naïve, she remains hidden behind her music, a protection from the world around her. On the night of her first solo performance, Maddy accepts the admiration of a stranger and finds herself captive in a cruel and twisted power struggle between a sadistic father and his son, Aaron.

Seemingly, dangerous and uncaring, Aaron manages the business operations of his father’s estate. Wanting nothing to do with the slaves kept at the Estate, Aaron refuses to take part in the deeper depravities of his father. Despite his resistance, Aaron’s father ‘gifts’ him with a petite, brunette woman he can’t refuse.

A bond forged in conspiracy and deceit, Aaron struggles to save Maddy by teaching her to survive in the world in which he’d been raised. An unlikely union, Aaron soon learns that great strengths can exist within small packages, while Madeleine learns that love and light can exist in the darkest of places.

Excerpt

Green, the color of jade, the color of budding life in Spring, burned down into her; backlit and heated by a fire of rage, of need.  Aaron’s mouth curved at the ends, an unknown thought amusing to him as she attempted to stand up to a man who controlled her completely…owned her in a way that no man should be allowed.

Like lightning, he moved quickly, so fast and unexpected, that Maddy gasped when the weight of his body came down on her.  The pills fell from her hand to the floor as Aaron pushed her back on the bed, held his body above her, his hand roughly traveling up the side of her torso, lifting her shirt to expose her breasts to his gaze.  “If I wanted to take you, Madeleine, I wouldn’t have to drug you to do so.”  The heat of his mouth stung as he wrapped his full lips around the peak of her breast.  His tongue laved against the sensitive tip, his teeth grazing the same area where he had marked her before.  A cry escaped her lips, part fear, part surprise; part lust so subtle, it caused her heart to skip in its rhythm.  As he worked her body into a frenzy, his hand traveled down to cup her between her thighs.  A single finger tapped against the opening to her body, she cried out again, not understanding the heat that bloomed within her core.  He pushed up suddenly, watched as she lay panting beneath him.  “Even if your mind did not remember my cruelty, your body certainly would.  The pain of being split apart when I bury myself within you cannot be easily forgotten…even if done while drugged.”

Just as quickly as he’d come down on top of her, he stood.  His eyes searched the floor and when he found the pills, he bent over to pick them up.  This time not an offer, but a demand, his hand reached to wrap around her face, squeezing her cheeks until her mouth fell open.  Shoving the pills onto her tongue he grabbed the glass of water, poured the contents down her throat, washing her new form of chains down into her body.  “I have no plans to grant you the satisfaction of my cock, I simply want you to sleep.  I don’t feel like spending the evening jumping up every time I think you are attempting to escape.”

Aaron took the glass and as he walked to place it in the bathroom he commanded, "Lay down, Maddy, close your eyes and let sleep take you.  That will be the only thing having its way with your body tonight."

5 HUGE STARS!!!
WOW! Where to begin. This was the first book I read by M.S. Willis, and it in no way will be my last! What a phenomenal writer she is! Her words find beauty in the darkest, ugliest of places. I absolutely cannot wait to read the other books by her... I am bumping them to the top of my TBR list for when I get some free time to read "me" books. Before I had started reading Madeline, Abducted people had told me that this was a seriously dark book. Now, I LOVE me some dark books so needless to say I was extremely excited to finally be able to open this up and sink my claws into it. At first I did find it to be somewhat dark, but not as much so as I was expecting... although I was REALLY enjoying it nonetheless. Well, let me tell you one thing... First impressions are not always right. As the story progressed, things got darker and darker and  by the last 10-15% my heart was racing... twisting and turning in ways I didn't even know were possible,  and my mind was struggling to grasp on to the idea that one person could be so completely and utterly evil.

Madeline was such an amazing heroine. There was not one single thing that I disliked about her (which says a lot because I almost always find something irritating in the female lead). This girl had a crazy amount of inner strength, and it was inspiring in so many ways. Her outer shell showed a tiny, shy, delicate and fragile girl, but on the inside she was like a burning fire ready to destroy anything that got in her way.

Aaron was trapped in a dark place which his father brought him into. He was scary and sexy  all wrapped up in a pretty little bow, and man would I love to be able to unwrap him all for myself. Seriously, he can have me as his slave any day and you would have NO complaints from me whatsoever. His character is so complex on many different levels, and it was absolutely incredible to get to know every side of him.

"The heat of his body rolled off of him as he circled her. It was the feeling of a soft blanket and lustful threat wrapped around her at the same time."

With Aaron's father having "gifted" Madeline to him as his slave, Aaron found his insides waging a war against each other. A war between right and wrong, which could ultimately both save and destroy at the same time. A war between the darkness, and the light.

"If I have to make her hate me in order to save her, I will, even if it destroys me in the process."

Joseph (Aaron's father) was the most twisted, dark and effed up character I have ever encountered in a book. He just dripped of pure evil with not one ounce of humanity left in his soul. He thrived on the torment and pain of others, and there was nothing he would not do if it would benefit him, or bring him amusement. The fear which he created in others was the fuel which fed his fire. Someone must not have gotten enough hugs as a child!

And Xander... Aaron's closest friend and confident. He was similar to Aaron in so many ways. He didn't want to be dark, but horrible circumstances beyond his control put him in this situation, and made him a member of the Estate. He did what he had to do in order to survive, and no one ever said it would be pretty. I was completely intrigued by his character and cannot wait to see where he goes from here. I need more of Aaron and Xander, like, NOW!

Madeline, Abducted was such a twisted, yet hauntingly beautiful story. It turned me inside out, broke me apart, and put my pieces back together in a way that was foreign, yet the same as it had been beforehand. It was so unbelievably vivid in it's detail that I felt like I should be watching it as a movie, not reading it in a book. One of the most common questions I have come across in the blogger world is: "What ONE book do you think should be turned into a movie?" Well, for me it is Madeline, Abducted. This is one story that will stick with me for quite a long time. This is one book to be added to your MUST MUST MUST read list!

Excerpt:
“I’ve spent the last thirty years proving to myself that I wasn’t crazy. I’ve… helped… people with paranormal activity.” “You’re a ghost hunter?” I snorted, listening to the monitor crackle and Perry cry out softly. Will gave a deep, amused sigh, gesturing to the house. “I am going to bed. Ten minutes, Eva.” I automatically scowled at his order. “I’ll be up in a little while,” I countered, using all of my self control not to tell him off for treating me like a kid. “Yes, love.” He bent to me, practically lifting me off the ground to catch me off guard with a possessive kiss. I could only hold on to his shoulders as his mouth moved over mine, and it took me five witless seconds to realize that the display was completely for Cole. Men, marking their territory. Please. “I won’t keep her long,” Cole promised, and Will responded with a quick nod before heading for the house. “All happily ever after here, I take it?” I turned to him, tucking my hands under the sleeves of my hoodie. “Obviously. Now tell me what’s going on.” He scratched his chin. “No, I’m not a ghost hunter. I just… lend a hand. When crazy, unexplainable shit happens.” “I hate to tell you this, but people die. Every day. I’m sure the toxicology reports will come back with some fun party results.” He stared at me, contemplating. I returned his look, waiting impatiently. Finally, he pulled his phone out of his pocket, handing it over to me. “The security cameras caught her death. There’s no sound. Eva honey, are you sure you can handle this?” I accepted his iPhone, shrugging. “Um, I set my father-in-law on fire from the inside out. I think I can handle watching someone die.” His palm covered my hand, and his fingertip swept the screen open. His nails weren’t nearly as manicured as Will’s, and his calloused skin felt rough on mine. “No sound,” he repeated, and I nodded, trying not to appear as confused as I felt. The street lamp flickered over our heads, and I waved my hand to turn the bulb completely off, leaving us in darkness. The video began with an aerial view of Nina, black and white, in the studio. I could hear that the sound had been wiped from the video, and the continuous, looping whisper kept time with my heartbeat as my pulse began to pound in my ears. Nina was tall and blonde, with adorable dimples that kept her looking years younger than her actual age. She had two fingers over her earpiece as she sang, and I watched her drag the back of her other hand over her brow in mid-verse. She stopped singing, and the rushing sound intensified. She was coughing; I watched her reach for something, and then tip her head back and take a long drink from a bottle of water. Cole’s hand slid around my waist, and I almost screamed. I’d been so involved in the video, waiting, holding my breath, I’d almost forgotten he was next to me. “Eva.” He warned. I ignored him, narrowing my eyes and focusing on the iPhone screen. Nina stilled suddenly, and the water bottle slipped from her hand. Long seconds passed as she stood there, frozen, still, and I started to lift my finger to touch the screen, checking to see if the video paused. Her head jerked down violently, chin to chest. All of her hair surrounded her face. When her head snapped upward to meet the camera face-on, my hand clamped over Cole’s arm. Her mouth was a wide, dark O, no teeth, no sound… no pupils. Blackness seeped from the corners of her eyes, and she began to bend backward, further, further still, until her entire body was folded- backwards- at the waist. About Rick Chiantaretto~

1005771_573547986029946_976679398_n

I've often been accused of having done more in my life than the average 30 year old, but if I were completely honest I'd have to tell you my secret: I'm really 392.

So after all this time, I'm a pretty crappy writer.

I have one book published but out of print, one coming out soon, and a bunch half written (when you have eternity, where's the reason to rush?). I've been favorably reviewed by horror greats like Nancy Kilpatrick, and my how-to-write-horror articles have been quoted in scholarly (aka community college freshmen's) papers.

I enjoy the occasional Bloody Mary, although a Bloody Kathy or Susan will suffice. Mostly, I just try to keep a low profile so people don't figure out who I REALLY am.

Excerpt:
I nod, and she makes her way down the hall that I now see is lined with photographs. My stomach tightens, but I figure that I need to get this over with if I’m going to be staying here. I walk towards them, stopping at the first picture. I’m guessing it’s from the day they first met, the time she told me about, because she’s giving him a playful frown while he’s grinning at her like he’s already half in love with her, which, to be honest, he probably was. I feel a slight twinge as I take in the picture, knowing that at that moment he had no idea how short of a life he was going to have with her. Hell, he probably wouldn’t have even cared, as long as he had her while he could. Shaking the thought out of my head, I browse each one. There are candid shots of them mixed throughout professional ones from events such as her graduation, Sierra and Jeremy’s wedding, and what looks like an engagement party. As I pass each picture, it’s becoming more real to me that she had a whole separate life before we reconnected. Strangely, I’m not bothered by it, seeing how happy she looks in these pictures, even though it was with another man and not me. I’ll admit that I was a little worried when she told me about their fighting, but looking at these pictures? I know Ty made her a happy woman, and I’m grateful that she had that while she could. Do I wish it had been me? Fuck yes, but what can you do? Coming to the last picture, I’m breathless as the image of Alexa in a wedding dress enters my vision. I’m moving in for closer inspection when she comes out of her room, stopping when she catches me. Her hand covers her mouth as she closes her eyes for a split second. She swallows hard before walking towards me. She reaches out her hand as if to touch my arm before pulling it back, obviously thinking better of it. “Jace, I… This is probably awkward, I’m sorry. I just… I wasn’t expecting you, and I don’t…” She trails off as she stares at the wall, glancing at the picture before turning her eyes towards the floor.

I'm a twenty six year old book junkie who is also obsessed with sports. Bengals, Buckeyes, Reds are my teams! I work for the government during the day, hang out with Air National Guard on the weekends, and am married to a guy 15 inches taller than me. We're quite the pair! We currently live right outside of Dayton, OH with our two cats. I've been reading since I was a kid. My mom was a librarian, so it was a given. Heck, she even made sure we watched Wishbone instead of the Smurfs. In 2011 when I graduated from college, my mom bought me a Nook, and then in the summer of 2012 I found this amazing site called Goodreads. I was introduced to so many amazing indie/self-published authors. After reading almost 400 books that year, my husband gave me the push to finally sit down and write my own. It was a rocky start, but over time the words started flowing and I couldn't get Jace and Lexi out of my head. If I’m not writing or looking through tons of photos of hot men, all in the name of research, then you can probably find me curled up with my Kindle, ignoring the rest of the world. I love my sports almost as much as I love my books. My other obsessions include red wine, hot men, country music, and all things Grace Potter. Meet The Author:

Kelly Gendron

Kelly resides in a quiet suburb somewhere between Buffalo and Niagara Falls, NY. Her day job? Kelly works in health care representing a group of nursing facilities in the WNY area. She’s been faithfully writing for three years but did write her first book ten years ago. She put it down to raise her son as a single mom and then picked it back up when she and her son finally grew up. That's when she settled into her newly married adult life and started to seriously write again. She's dabbled with Romantic Suspense stories, but recently she's been on a contemporary kick. The recipe for the men in her stories: a dash of bad boy attitude, a cup of strong and confident and, of course, besides being packed with magnificent bodies, and doused with shameless aptitudes, they must have a tender heart you want to rip out of the pages (or your e-Reader) and take to bed with you at night.

Excerpt:

“Finish getting ready. We’re outta here in a few minutes,” he said, then turned his back to her. She struggled to retort from the total body meltdown. “Are we heading back to your apartment?” “Yes,” he said just as he disappeared from the doorway. “Good.” She raised her voice. “You can drop me off at the bus stop then.” Chase’s head swayed back in the doorway. “Come again?” “I’m going home, but I’ll be back in time for Caplin’s arrival on Thursday.” Chase stepped back into the room. “Why do you want to go home?” The question caught her off guard. She’d assumed he’d be pleased to be rid of her. Nonetheless, telling him the truth wasn’t an option. “As you said, the only reason we needed to spend time together was so I could get to know you, so we can convince Caplin we’re married.” His forehead wrinkled. “And you feel like you know me now?” “Well enough to pull off a bullshit marriage, yes.” “Hmm.” He rubbed his chin, then dropped his hand and took a step toward her. His intense regard held her captive. She clung to those dark eyes, waiting for him to say something. “I don’t want you to go.” His low, husky words resonated in her ears. Her body hesitated, her heart skipped, and her nerves stammered. She was convinced that all of her senses had failed her, because she was sure she hadn’t heard him right. “What?” “There’re a few more things you need to know about me in order to successfully pull this off, Jessina.” Every single one of her senses came back to life as he approached her. “Will you stay here with me just one more night?” he asked, stopping in front of her. “So I can show them to you?” “What?” Heat flushed through her body once more. “What sort of things?” Dark, ravishing eyes dropped to her mouth as he drew a finger down the side of her cheek. It trailed along her neck, gently grazing her shoulder and caressing the length of her arm. “The sort of things I would do with my real wife.” He looked back up at her, his hand now settled on her hip. The weight of his touch caused her stomach to clench with desire. His hand shifted to the small of her back, and her next breath got caught in her throat. “I want to show you how my wife would make me feel when I’m this close to her.” He applied light pressure with his hand to her back, and the space between them descended. Their bodies became one. “Chase…” His name fell from her lips in a near whisper when his hardness pressed into her tight-with-desire belly. “Jessina…” he hissed back in a throaty murmur…
