This is Michelle Dare debut book and I am really looking forward to her next book. Michelle gave us a book about a couple who grew up together at their families summer cottages. Their last night together they shared an insanely hot kiss and haven't seen each other in 10yrs. Now, it's like a high school reunion with the actual high school.
Caliana AKA Cali and her boyfriend have had a bad break up and she hates her job. She needs to just get away for a little while. She walks into her boss says "I quit" walked out and went to the only place that makes for really at peace. Her Aunt Rhea left her the cabin after she passed away. That is where she's going to relax and figure out whats next.
First night there Cali has a blast from the past when Owen Matthews shows up. Owen himself is beyond shocked to have his love there in front of him. Owen bought a small company that builds boats. Own has turned it around into a multi million company. They make yachts. And, he's the best around. He has more money then anybody can imagine. But, he works so much that his personal relationship is lacking. He's working so much relationships aren't a priority for him at the moment.
Owen and Cali couldn't believe the other one was there. They picked up right where they left off. Except this time they were going to go with their feelings. Esp Owen he would let her know exactly how he felt.
Things between Owen & Cali got pretty serious, hot very fast. But, then things got dangerous for Cali. Somebody started targeting Cali. Owen took extra measures to keep Cali no matter what. These 2 would take 10 steps forward and something would happen and there went 5 steps backwards. It was a race to figure out who was after Owen & Cali before someone got seriously hurt or worse!!
All in all this was a good book and it kept my interest. Michelle always kept me surprised and I never knew what was coming next. Owen really was the perfect man. He'd do anything to keep Cali safe. No matter is what. He also always let her know she was his #1 for everything. Cali was his and he wasn't afraid to let her and everyone else know. Owen also treated all his workers and security team like family. He is an all around great guy. Cali I really liked too. But, I didn't like how whatever Owen said she did or went along with. I felt like for someone who wanted to be independent she wasn't after he came around. Other then that I am very excited to see what she comes out with next.
