✯Review✯ MELANCHOLY by Bella Jewel

Blurb
"There's never been a time I've cared about anything more than my club. Today that all changed. Today I got you."

To truly understand a story; you need to start from the beginning, but to start from the beginning; you have to go back, further than just you. After all, our stories don’t start with us, do they? Our stories start with the person before us, and the person before them. We are created from the stories of those people - from their mistakes, from their achievements, from their love and their hate.

No one’s story is ever truly their own.

I tried to create my own story, my own path, and my own actions. I’ve seen things people only see in their worst nightmares, but I never let it beat me down. I never let it become who I was. I picked myself up, and I kept going. Everything was what it was.

There was no point analyzing what it could be.

Could be’s didn’t matter.

Until Maddox came into the picture. He saved my life. He changed my world; giving me the second chance some of us only dream about. There was only one thing missing in my second chance, and she was the reason I fought so hard to survive.

My sister.

My sister who is supposed to be dead, well, at least, that’s what I thought.

That’s what he told me.

Now is where my story changes, but to understand this story, you have to start at the beginning…where it all began…and before.

This story is the second book in a series. You can get the first book on all major retailers. (Precarious - Jokers' Wrath MC Book 1)

This contains no cliffhanger and has a HEA. 18+

5 stars!
Gahhhh! I loved this book. Being able to read about Santana's back story was amazing. I love how the entire story went back and forth between her past and present, and it did not get confusing in the slightest bit. You get to see just how rough of a past she had, and learn in depth all the events which led up to her being where she is now. You also get a bit of Maddox's POV as well which was ah-mazing in my opinion. Who knew that the big bad-assed biker could actually melt my heart?

"I'm gonna love you for every minute, every hour, every day, every month and every year for the rest of your life, because you're the only person in my life that's worth fightin' for."

Maddox is hot. He is bossy, and fiercly protective, but he has a sweet side to him that you really did not get to see before now. Since the day he first found Santana, nearly dead and all alone, he has been on a hunt for any information on where her sister Pippa could be…. either alive, or dead. Santana has no knowledge of this, nor of the fact that her sister could still be alive, and this secret is exactly what is causing Maddox to try and push himself away from Santana. He knows that once she finds out he has been hiding this from her, he will lose her forever… without ever actually having had her to begin with (at least not in the way he wants).

The tension between Santana and Maddox was intense and infuriating. It was more than obvious to everyone around them (and to me as a reader) that they both wanted each other, yet both repeatedly pushed the other away. BUT when they finally got together, oh how the sparks took off into smoldering flames.

"When a man kisses you, and he really means it, and you really feel it, then you will ache for him. Everywhere."
I loved Santana's character. She was so incredibly strong throughout the story. Despite all she had went through in the past she always kept pushing forward and did not allow herself to be that broken, scared little girl she once was. She fought hard, and loved harder. The courage she was able to muster up in a horrible & scary situation was really admirable, and I wish I could be a bit more like her at times.

Bella Jewel really has a way to draw you into each story she writes, and leave you panting for more. Where the book did not leave off on a big cliffhanger for me like Precarious did, it still has me aching and dying to know what will happen in the next book. I really hope to get to know Mack better (one of the brothers from the Jokers' Wrath MC) as it seems there is so much more to his character than what you learned in this book. I want more Maddox, more Santana, more Krypt and Ash and more of the Jokers' Wrath sexy biker bad boys!
