I knew when I first read the synopsis that it was going to be a book I'd loose myself in. And, that's what I did. Angel and Ethan had no idea what they were getting into. They were so much alike and so different at the same time. I'd go for rooting for them to screaming the next.
Angelica Lawson AKA Angel is a fantastic photographer. She owns her own gallery and has an excellent reputation for her work. She's the type of girl you'd love to be around. Angel is the type of girl who's always seeing the best in everyone. Always up for a good time. Unfortunately, Angel lost her mother when she was young. Her father who's a complete jerk has never gotten over it. Not only that but he's blamed Angel for it her whole life. His hatred for her has brainwashed her younger twin brothers. Angel has lived a very lonely, sad life. So, she keeps people at arms length. Except for her best friend Jia. She doesn't date. Except for once and it proved to her that she was right not too.
While out for Jia's birthday Angel can not stop staring at the hot, sexy guy across the restaurant. After staring and eye fucking each other all night they take it up a notch. Ethan is very dominating and he expects everyone to listen to him. Angel is used to not having to listen to anyone. She's also use to doing what she wants when she wants. They definitely clash a lot. Angel can not see the bad in anyone. Ethan is good at reading people and knowing what people are going to do before I think they do. For the first time in both Angel and Ethan's lives they know what it's like to be jealous and to be in love. It's much easier for Ethan to say how he feels. For Angel it's easier to show it.
I really like Angel and Ethan. Angel has had such a crappy childhood but didn't let that get her down. If anything it made her want to do better. Ethan still is a mystery for me. We don't know everything about him. And, I feel like there's something big he's keeping secret. Angel's best friend Jia. Ugh. I can't stand her!! She never called Angel by her name only called her "Bitch" It got old and annoying after awhile. I mean it's OK if my friend called me that. But, every time...Nope!! It was "Bitch" this and "Bitch" that. It's too much. I really liked Ethan's brother and sister. And, Jackson. Ethan's driver,body guard, friend his other half. I loved Jackson!!! There was no cliffhanger but it still left me dying to know what is next!! Kendra nailed her debut book out the park. I can't wait to see what's next for Ethan & Angel.
