✯Review✯ DARE by Allie Juliette Mousseau

Blurb
Josh North is UFC’s Light Heavyweight Champion—but he’s about to meet his match.

Sophie Garner is a single mom who’s been raising her daughter on her own, fighting for both of their lives ever since going into hiding to escape her abusive husband.

When Sophie gets offered the job of a lifetime as the exclusive massage therapist for Josh “The Jackhammer” North’s team, it’s difficult to say no to the outrageous salary—and the bet—that Josh proposes. But for Sophie it’s a risk that could cost a lot more than just her heart – if she’s found, it could cost her her life.

Should she dare?

Josh wants to break through Sophie’s fortified walls, but is unwilling to put the jackhammer to his own and reveal his secrets and the side of him few have ever known or seen. To do that, he’ll have to confront the darkness of his past.

Will he dare?

5 Stars!
I am such a HUGE fan of Allie Juliette Mousseau's writing. Her stories are always ones that drag you in from page one, and have you getting lost in their worlds. DARE is the first book in the True North spinoff series, and boy did the author deliver! The heat was turned up quite a few notches, and the book was raw, primal, and sexy as hell.

Josh North…. sexy MMA fighter and Firefighter. Big manwhore, but has a good heart. He had a lot of shit from his past he had to deal with, and for so long had been unable to forgive himself for something that wasn't his fault.

Sophie… On the run from her abusive husband, trying to save her life, and the life of Charlie (her daughter), she is working at a hospital and also given the job offer of a lifetime…being the massage therapist for Josh "Jackhammer" North. Her character is sweet and lovable and down to earth. I felt so bad for her and Charlie, always having to be on the run, and was really rooting for them to be able to plant their roots this time around.

When Josh suffers horrible injuries in a fire, Sophie is his nurse. She knows all about his reputation and vows to not allow herself to become another number. But when the sparks between these two are instant and undeniable, her vow may be harder to keep than she expected. She is offered the job of a lifetime, and when Josh ups the offer and agrees to her rules, she finally accepts. As time passes they develop an amazing friendship, and Josh does all he can to show her the man he can be, and wants to be, with her. He instantly takes to her daughter, Charlie, who in return adores him tremendously. So many scenes involving these two just melted my heart.

I loved how the author incorporated the characters from the original series into this spinoff, as well adding a whole slew of new ones. It made me want to read True North all over again as I had forgotten how much I loved those characters. And these new ones…the Brothers of Ink and Steel….I have a feeling us readers are going to be in for one hell of a ride.
