✯Review✯ DESOLATION by Bella Jewel

Title: Desolation
Series: Jokers' Wrath MC #4
Author: Bella Jewel
 Release Date: April 27, 2015

Blurb
Pippa

The girl you all know as damaged. Quiet. Broken.
She doesn’t fit in. Nothing in her world feels right. She’s trapped in a spiral of darkness that seem to be consuming her day by day, until she sees nothing but an empty, black hole.
Her world is a dark place she can’t escape.
She has people around her who matter. Who love her. But it’s not enough. Not enough to break her out of the bitter despair she lives in.

UNTIL TYKE.

He knows pain. He knows darkness. He’s sweet. He’s kind. But most of all…
He understands her.
Combining their demons doesn’t seem like the best plan. Everyone is against them. He deserves better. She deserves better. They’ll never work. They’re too broken. Too damaged. It’s a destructive combination that will only end in heartbreak.

He’s a biker. She’s a broken angel.

But in their desolation, they find peace.

WITH EACH OTHER.

5 Tear at your heartstring stars!
Holy crap! I knew this book was going to be deep, but I was seriously unprepared for just how heartbreaking and emotional it was going to be. I have ugly cried in many many MANY books, but thats usually just in one single part…whereas in Desolation I was crying on and off throughout the entire thing! And the times I was not crying, my heart was twisting into all sorts of ugly forms. This book seriously tore at every heartstring and I was such a complete and utter mess while reading it. I still am, days later too, but it was well worth it in the end :)

I loved getting to hear Pippa's story and everything that happened to her once she and been taken. The fact that she was used as a slave (not a sex slave) was a great change of pace, and I LOVED Rainer (the boy she became good friends with while they were slaves). There were times where I had actually hoped Pippa would end up being with Rainer, but then I was right back to wanting her to be with Tyke. I was actually quite a bit wishy-washy with who I wanted her to be with. The only thing I was left wishing was that things were a little more tied up with Rainer at the end. I know he is getting a book, but I felt like his part in this story just abruptly ended, and for me he was such a vital part of this book.

Probably my favorite thing about this book was getting the "then" and "now" POV's from Pippa. It really allowed you to feel for her character. Bella did a fantastic job of balancing the complicated past and present of Pippa, I couldn't have asked for anything more on that aspect. It was encouraging to see the way she grew and overcame her past.
My least favorite part was that we didn't get any of the story in Tyke's POV. His character seemed very intense, and had a lot going on emotionally, and I really feel that he should have had a voice in this book, especially since this is the final book of the series.

There was an introduction to a couple of new characters, who I know are getting spinoff books, and I cannot wait for these. Max, Belle, Raide and Rainer each grabbed my attention in their own ways, and my mind is running rampant trying to figure out what the deal is with Max and what happened between him and Belle.
