✯5 Emotionally Charged Stars!!!

I'm not sure where to start this review. I finished this a few days ago and have been looking at the computer screen for hours now. I fee like no matter what I write it won't do this book, this incredible story justice.  Before I start I'm going to tell if this is NOT a standalone and can't be read as one.

Both Side A and Side B ended on cliffhangers. Now, we're getting the conclusion to this incredible story. Mel, is dealing with so many emotions. Her life as well as the rest of their families were never the same. We do know they've lost Belle. Every. Single. Person are all trying to cope with whats happened. Theres that one word question going through everyones heads. Why? Why them?

But, like Noah has said his whole life. Fate. Everything happens for a reason. Whenever somebody is questioning this that's what they get. Like, Noah and Sawyer's mom always says "the only way out is through" and its so true on so many different levels.

I refuse to say much because I'd be livid if someone gave away any details to me. This story is about friends who are family. A family trying to grieve and live at the same time. There are times they don't see eye to eye. And, I got mad at Mel a time or two. But, understood.

I've read a lot of book my lifetime. There are some that have stayed with me and other ones that don't. This book. This series will. It's one that'll be in my top 10. It's in my top 10 of gut wrenching book and top 10 tear jerkers. Dee has such  a way of making you so invested in the characters lives. You feel like you know them and want to be friends with the girls and in a relationship with the guys.

I'm glad I read this story. I really wish Darren gets a book. He's one tough guy. Who is a fantastic dad, friend and brother. I am hoping we get more from this group.

Heather's Review

5 Unbelievable Stars(but it deserves so much more!!!)

I need to start by saying that this is the hardest review I have ever had to write! One, because this book touched home for me, and two, because, how am I supposed to say much without giving away a very vital part of the story that you need to read yourself? This is not a series that you can pick up in the middle of. If you haven’t already, you need to read the first two books first (Side A and Side B). If you have already read them, then you know that Amelia has had a tough life and all she wanted to do was face her fears of losing the ones she loved and to live a happy and healthy life with her new family. However, at the end of Side B, we know that they get into a terrible accident and Belle died right away. There is SO MUCH more to this that I can’t divulge without completely giving away the entire plot of this book. In the first two books, we go between past and present and you know that the author is building up to something big, something terrible. My gut told me I already knew what was going to happen, and my gut was spot on. The third book continues to jump between past and present, until everything catches up and it is all set in present time. This is a book you can’t read without an entire box of tissues and your loved ones close by to hug tight. You will thank me! This is a MUST read series and I have a new found love for the author for doing such a great job at capturing the grieving process of losing ones close to you and for showing how there is still hope and miracles that surround us!

✯Review✯Unworthy by Cassia Brightmore

Synopsis

Irrelevant. Insignificant. Inconsequential.

Three pointed words designed to break down a person’s self-confidence. To strip away any sense of worth until all that’s left is a shell of the person they wish to be. Sometimes, courage comes in the form of enduring endless pain and suffering; sometimes, bravery can blind you from the truth.

What would you do if you were trapped? Unable to break free of the bindings of shame and rejection? For Maisie Pierce, finding herself in a world that has done nothing but betray her has proved almost impossible.

Until him.

Ridge Buchanan doesn’t have time for love or any kind of a committed relationship. With putting everything he has into making his private security business a success, finding a woman is the last thing he wants or needs.

Until her.

Two broken souls not searching for each other. A lost woman desperate to escape the constraints of her past. A bitter man resigned to living a life of empty one-night stands and meaningless connections. A volatile, dark cloud looming over both of them.

When faced with a chance at happiness after a life filled with disappointments, can they be the beacon of hope each other needs? Or are they destined to forever live a life of misery and regret?

Warning: Contains graphic and violent situations that may cause triggers. Recommended for readers 18 or older.

✯4 Worthy Stars!!!

Cassia sure is one evil genius. I was hooked to this from the very first page. This book was fantastic and if you've read Cassia's previous books then you'll know to always be prepared.

All Maisie's ever wanted her entire life was to be loved unconditionally. Early in her life that wasn't the case. Not until she was adopted. Then, she had loving parents and a sister who loved her.

When she met Brant she thought she'd met her Prince Charming. But, looks can be deceiving. Brant got his hooks into Maisie deep. He turned into an abusive monster. If Maisie didn't do what he wanted and when he wanted it turned disastrous for her. He broke her down so much she didn't realize she was worth so much more then him breaking her down.

The only one who knew her secret was her sister Blake. She had to beg and plead with her to not say anything. Blake was only going to stay quiet for so long before she tells their parents.

When Maisie meets Ridge everything changes. He makes her feel things Brant never did. He's the perfect gentleman and notices that Maisie's been through things that nobody should ever have too.

Maisie finally realizes she's strong enough to stand up for herself. Things start to look up for Maisie and she's never been happier. Then as fast as it came it all fell apart. When she looses one of the people closest to her, her mother makes an appearance and Brant won't let anybody make a fool of him. The only good in her life is Ridge.

This book was full of emotions. My heart hurt for Maisie. I hated that she felt she couldn't talk to her parents, her sister or her friend Greer. I was glad she finally stood up for herself. I totally understood why she went to that hotel. I would've too if I was her. I wish she would have gotten answers.

I went through so many ups and downs reading this. But, then I got to the end. And, just like every single Cassia Brightmore book I was left shocked, loss of breath, jaw dropped and saying out loud "WTF!!".  I legit read the last few paragraphs like 5 times BC I did NOT see it coming. This is another must read from this author!

✯Release Review✯Bad Penny by Staci Hart

SBPRBanner-BADPENNY-RB.jpg

"Witty, sexy as all hell, and addictive like no other, Staci Hart BRINGS IT with Bad Penny."

-T.M. Frazier, USA Today Bestselling Author

Bad Penny, an all-new romantic comedy standalone from Staci Hart is now LIVE!

cover-wrap-penny copy 4.57.20 PM

Synopsis

Nothing good comes after the third date.
See, date three is the crucial point when things get real, which is exactly why I bounce out the door, twiddling my fingers at whatever poor boy I’ve left behind. Because if I stick around, one of three things will happen: he’ll profess his undying love, he gets weird and stalky, or I’ll go crazy. Like, Sid and Nancy crazy. Like, chase-him-through-the-streets-begging-him-to-love-me crazy.
Seriously, it’s better for everyone this way.
So when I meet Bodie, I figure it’ll be the same as it ever was. It doesn’t matter that he doesn’t put a single string on me. Doesn’t matter that he’s funny and smart and jacked and can play my body like a grand piano. Because even though I’m built for love, love has only carved me up like a Christmas ham.
Resistance is something I can only hang on to for so long, and he has persistence in spades. But my heart isn’t as safe as I want to believe, and neither is his. And the second I ignore my cardinal rule is the second I stand to lose him forever.

✯5 Diddle Stars!!!

I love starting a new Staci Hart book. Bad Penny was no exception. ESP since Penny worked at Tonic. We were introduced to Penny in Staci's previous book Tonic.

Penny is just like your typical dude. You know the guy who doesn't do strings. Relationships are a huge no-no. You only see them when  they're in the mood and they leave right after. They've been hurt in the past and you end up suffering for it now. Yup. That's Penny.

Penny doesn't do relationships. She only dates. Which in my opinion isn't even dating. She'll only go on 3 dates with a guy and then she'll cut the ties. So, it boils down to she'll sleep with the guy 3 times and bounce quick. But, she spends one night with Bodie and her world is turned upside down. Penny knows she should put her head down and run and not look back. But, being with Bodie is unlike anything she's ever had before.

Bodie recognized her instantly. But, he knows she doesn't recognize him. The last time he saw Penny he was the chubby, nerdy kid with glasses. Back then she knew him as "Diddle" and not Bodie. Penny was shocked to say the least when he told her. Bodie knew why Penny didn't do relationships. He was with her in high school and knows what she went through and why she doesn't do relationships. Brodie has been in love with Penny for 10yrs and now that he's had a taste of Penny. Brodie will play it cool with Penny. Anything to not spook her. He'll do anything to change her mind. Even if it kills him in the process.

This was a great story. A second chance romance. The guy finally getting the girl he's loved forever. And, for the girl to see the perfect guy whose been in front of her this whole time.

Brodie's the perfect man. He makes geeky math really sexy. Thats saying a lot from me being I failed math so many times its unreal lol. And, Penny. My heart hurt for her. She was crushed so bad she called sleeping with a guy  a date. Penny didn't think she was worth being loved.

I loved seeing the crew from Tonic again. I hope we get more from them and Brodie's twin brother.

About the Author

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. From roots in Houston to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.  AuthorPics

Excerpt:

BODIE
She glanced behind me, twiddling her fingers, presumably at Jude and Phil. “So, you’re a twin, huh?” I nodded and took a sip of my Maker’s as “Rock the Casbah” kicked off, and everyone around us started bouncing and dancing. “Since birth.” She laughed. “What a win for the universe that there would be two of you.” “Double your pleasure, double your fun.” That caught her off guard, and her bottom lip slipped between her teeth as a flush rose on her cheeks. Just like that, I had one objective, and it began and ended with her lips. “Although I should tell you now,” I stepped closer, slipping into her space, and her eyes widened, pupils dilating as she leaned into me, “I don’t like to share.” The tip of her pink tongue darted out to wet her lips, and her eyes were locked onto my mouth. “Are you thinking about kissing me?” I asked. She shook her head, though her eyes didn’t stray. “No, I’m thinking about what your dick looks like.” I laughed from way down deep in my belly, shocked in the best way and turned on in the worst. And as the ocean of people waved around us, she rose up on her tiptoes, grabbed a handful of my T-shirt, and pulled. I caught the smallest breath — a surprised, satisfied gasp — just before our lips met, and fireworks exploded in my brain. The kiss wasn’t soft or sweet; it was strong and determined, those red, red lips pressing against mine, opening to let me into her hot mouth, her tongue finding mine like she’d been looking for it her whole life. The surprise left me as quickly as it had hit, and I leaned into her, my free arm winding around her back to press her body against mine. There wasn’t an inch of space between us, and all the while, our mouths worked each other’s in a long dance that left my heart chugging like a freight train in my chest. She pulled away, her lips swollen and eyes lust-drunk as they met mine and held them while she kicked back her drink and grabbed my hand. “Let’s get the fuck out of here,” she said. And I smirked, breathless. “Your place or mine?”

✯Double Cover Reveal w/Giveaway✯Checkmate:This is Dangerous & Checkmate: This is Beautiful by Kennedy Fox

Title: Checkmate: This is Dangerous
Series: Checkmate Duet Series (Logan & Kayla, #1)
Author: Kennedy Fox
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Trope: Second Chance Romance
Photographer & Designer: Sara Eirew
Release Date: July 11, 2017

Introducing book 1 in the Logan & Kayla saga of the Checkmate series from a secret duo of romance authors who teamed up under the USA Today Bestselling pseudonym, Kennedy Fox! This second-chance romance will have you gasping and cheering this two on from the first to the last page! Are you ready to play the final game?
***
Logan Knight is a real life knight in shining armor.
A detective godsend in a sleek black suit has me thinking less than secretive thoughts. Brooding and mysterious, he’s the kind of guy every girl instantly notices. Between his seductive smirk and charming good looks, it’s no wonder I can’t help the way he makes me feel whenever I’m near him.
Too bad he’s unavailable—or so he says.
He thinks I’m a do-gooder who shouldn’t get involved with a guy like him. His past is messy and relationships just add to that. He insists the timing is all wrong and he’s devoted to his career, but I don’t buy that excuse for a second. I see the way his body tenses and his jaw ticks every time another guy is around me. He just won’t admit it, but I’m more determined than ever to show him what he’s missing.
I’m a devoted animal rescuer and I’ll risk everything to save them, but when a dramatic turn of events puts both our lives at risk, I’m positive Logan will write me off for good. But when he asks for my help with a personal crisis, I know it’s my last chance to finally show him I can handle anything he throws my way—messy past and all.
He might think he has me all figured out, but I’ll prove him wrong no matter what he thinks. This game of push and pull has me running in circles. One wrong move and we could both lose.
Checkmate, Knight.

*Recommend for ages 18+ due to sexual content and adult language.*
**This is book 1 in the Logan & Kayla Saga–a second-chance romance. You don’t need to read any of the other Checkmate series to enjoy this one, but is always recommended as they are both introduced in the earlier books.**
Every part of my body is on fire, fueled by the electricity between Logan and me as his lips glide across the softness of mine. The low hum in my stomach aches when he pulls us apart, and I fight the urge to press my lips back to his.
His lips are red and swollen, probably just like mine are right now. I don’t know what got into him, but Logan and I have never, ever kissed before. Hell, we’ve slow danced before at weddings, but nothing this intimate—ever.
“I think that did the trick,” he finally says, catching his breath. Fred left over two minutes ago.
“Yeah, I think so.” I take a small step back, trying to act unaffected, but the hard beating in my chest gives me away. I know he feels it, too. I just don’t understand why he pretends he doesn’t. “Thanks for your help,” I say, breaking the tension.
“Anytime. It was fun watching him sweat.” He grins, rocking back and forth on his feet, gripping the coffee cup tight in his hand. He’s just as nervous as I am.
“Don’t you get enough of that at work?” I tease.
“Can never have enough.” He flashes a pleased smile.
“You do have some sick fetish for that, don’t you?”
“I do. Gets all my juices flowing,” he quips.
And just like that, we’re back to our platonic friendship as if the kiss never happened. However, the ache between my legs knows otherwise. It happened, and it was hot as hell.
“What are you doing on a dating website anyway?” he asks after I grab another cup of coffee and sit across from him at the table.
“How else am I supposed to meet guys?” I ask, although it’s really a rhetorical question. “Guys in bars just want sex and one-night stands. I have a strict no dating guys from work rule and everyone else is taken or just wants me to be apart of their menage a trois.”
His brows lift. “What kind of people are you hanging out with?”
I sigh. “This city literally has no available, decent, single men. I might as well just move to another planet. Like Pluto. Get as far away from here as possible.”
“Actually, Pluto isn’t a planet anymore,” he tells me matter-of-factly.
I blink, unamused. “Great. I can’t escape this damn city.”
He chuckles, and I only slightly hate that he finds my pathetic dating life entertaining. “You’re still young. No need to panic until you’re like…thirty.”
I grab a piece of his pastry and throw it at him. “You suck.” I scowl. “I’m twenty-six, which means I’m almost thirty, and almost thirty means I should be with the guy I’m planning on marrying. Otherwise, I’ll be forty, my looks will be gone, my boobs will have fallen to my feet, and I’ll have gray hair,” I ramble, knowing I’m over exaggerating, but right now it feels true. Every date is a disaster. More than the last.
